How did you get into coaching?
After working in oncology and hospice nursing, I worked in health care team-building coaching and administration for 13 years. My career allowed me the flexibility to work from home and raise my children. A common denominator began to surface in my life experience, which is the passion I feel about supporting people moving through life transitions. I love supporting people as they are in the process of changing their lives! I decided to make a focused change and become a Certified Life Coach. It’s really what I was born to do.

What formal training and professional memberships do you have related to coaching?
I completed my training at the Fearless Living Institute in Boulder, Colorado. I’m a Certified Professional Life Coach. I belong to the Int International Association of Coaches (IAC) of which I’m a founding member. I’m committed to further education in coaching as well as ongoing personal development.

Why you are attracted to a career in coaching?
I love being a part of changing processes in people. I am a highly relational person. I enjoy deeper and vulnerable conversations. Coaching is innate for me. It is who I am.

What qualities do you think make a great coach?

  • Talking only when necessary
  • Giving tons and tons and tons of encouragement so that others can begin to believe in themselves
  • Communicating understanding to the client
  • Being okay with silence
  • Confidence in themselves, and ability to be relaxed in sessions
  • Openness and acceptance
  • Ability to redirect a conversation in a way that supports a client
  • Expression of empathy, trust and confidence in the clients
  • Willingness to ask the sensitive questions

What is your experience as a Life Coach?
I am experienced in coaching individuals and groups. I have supported many people successfully navigate through life changes such as strengthening marriages, parenting teenagers, re-entering the work force after being a stay at home mom, midlife transitions, spiritual searching, career changes, relationship issues and facing the finality of death. I have been in the trenches with my own teenagers, and I understand the kind of support that enables parents to be successful in raising teens.

What are your personal interests?
I have been happily married for 24 years, and I have 2 wonderful adult children. I enjoy foreign films, gardening, biking and anything risky or creative.   I continue to be an administrative and personal coach of a medical practice in Denver, Colorado.
